First and foremost, I am a wife and momma who knows and understands that life goes by in a blink. I am currently attempting to keep my sanity while raising a "tweenager" that I could have sworn was a 2-year-old just yesterday! I also worked several years with small children on a daily basis as an early education teacher and have built amazing relationships with my past and present students and their parents. I have the knack forĀ getting even the most serious child to smile or laugh, making it possible to capture their true personalities in a photograph. Photographing children, getting down on the ground to their level and seeing life through their eyes is one of my greatest passions! I also love photographing multiple generations, making sure grandparents are included in sessions as often as possible.
I have had formal training in photography from the days when we actually had to use film! I was one of those photographers you saw wearing a khaki, pocket-covered vest that was weighted down with rolls of film! It was NOT a difficult transition for me to change to digital! I was happy to do it!
I describe myself as nostalgic and sentimental when it comes to my photography. In 2002, I lost my mother to cancer and in my grief, went on a mission to discover my roots. Through this search through my ancestry, I developed a passion for preserving and restoring old photographs and embarked on extensive training to learn the best methods to do so.
I take great pride in the photographic art that I create and my goal when photographing any family, whether in formal or lifestyle portraits, is to capture the raw emotion that is present at the moment. I want your photos to be works of art that you will want to print and hang on your walls, or to preserve in a photo book for you to enjoy for many generations.
